The video work Repeat was commissioned by the curators Saida Mahalia Saad and Diane Izabiliza. In 2025, they initiated the project Between Threshold and Future (Zwischen Tür und Zukunft). The project explored how marginalized communities imagine new futures amid colliding political extremes. ‘What happens when the place we have created as a substitute home becomes dangerous and insecure?’ What do we do when we are forced to migrate once again?

In collaboration with sound artist Kim Vu, I developed a series of reimaginings of hidden or suppressed political energies within Berlin’s urban and collective spaces. Through symbolic sequences, I constructed a narrative that embodies the power and forces I engage with in my practice. Additionally, I created a complementary video piece that articulates the project’s context. It weaves together sentences and fragments contributed by the curators and two participants from the laboratory that preceded the installation and served as the conceptual starting point of the entire project.
